Document Description
The City of Menlo Park has approved an Addendum to the certified Final Subsequent Environmental Impact Report (Final SEIR) for the City's 6th Cycle Housing Element Update (HEU), which was certified on January 31, 2023. The Addendum evaluated the environmental effects of revising the HEU to increase permitted residential densities in the El Camino Real/Downtown Specific Plan area; modifying the Affordable Housing Overlay to allow higher residential densities for 100 percent affordable housing developments; and increasing allowable building heights in the C-2 zoning district. Collectively, the revisions to the HEU are expected to result in potential production of approximately 862 additional housing units above the 4,499 units evaluated in the SEIR, for a total of 5,361 units. The analysis in the Addendum determined that the proposed revisions would not result in any additional or more severe impacts than those evaluated in the SEIR. The City Council concurred with that determination on December 5, 2023.
