Document Description
Note: Review per lead. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers proposes to modify a bank protection structure within Reach 9 of the Santa Ana River that was approved for construction in 2015. Modifications include deleting the upstream-most segment of the planned structure, and expanding staging areas. Location of a permanent maintenance road has also been clarified. Phase 5B is located in the City of Yorba Linda, Orange County. The purpose of the project is to prevent undercutting and erosion of Santa Ana River embankment, caused by high-velocity flows and associated scour. This SEA/EIR Addendum supplements a 2015 document that also addressed bank and bridge protection in other areas of Reach 9 (Phase 4, Phase SA and BNSF Bridge).
