Document Description
The proposed project consists of preparing a study evaluating the treatment options to resolve disinfection byproducts violations. It will also evaluate the effects of consolidating the water supply of CSA 49 with other nearby systems. There will be no construction or ground disturbance during the duration of this project. CSA 49 is a small rural community surrounded by the predominantly agricultural lands of western Fresno County. Its water supply has been found to contain a concentration of disinfectant byproducts in excess of the maximum allowed by state and federal laws, and the CA Dept. of Public Health has issued compliance orders. Because numerous other water supplies in the area have been found to be in similar states of non-compliance, we are performing this study to determine the best course of ensuring future compliance. Any future project stemming from this study will require a new and separate environmental review.
