Document Description
The City of Los Angeles Harbor Department (LAHD) has prepared an Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration (IS/MND) to address potential environmental effects associated with the closure proposed permanent roadway segment closures along Fries Ayenue, Avalon Boulevard, an_d "A" Street, as well as all associated construction activities (proposed Project). Under the proposed Project, LAHD (Applicant) would close a 1,337-foot segment of Fries Avenue between "A" Street and Water Street at the Union Pacific railroad tracks; a 920-foot segment of Avalon Boulevard between Harry Bridges Boulevard and Water Street at the Union Pacific railroad tracks; and a 280-foot segment of "A" Street between Avalon Boulevard and the driveway located to the west of Avalon Boulevard. In total, the proposed Project would result in approximately 2,537 linear feet of roadways closures. The proposed Project would be executed in three phases, with Phase II and Phase Ill occurring simultaneously. See NOC Attachment for Full Details.
