Document Description
This proposed project involves the replacement of the existing 5th Street Bridge (Bridge Number 18C-0012) over the Feather River with a new four-lane structure. Project is expected to cause the permanent loss of 0.01 acres to the bed, bank and channel of the Feather River, and 0.21 acres of riparian habitat. The Project is expected to cause the temporary loss of 0.45 acres of riparian habitat and 1.61 acres of impacts tot eh Feather River. After Project completion, the banks of the Feather River will be replanted with native tree and shrub species, which will mitigate for the 0.45 acres of riparian habitat. An additional 1.39 acres of mitigation credits will be purchased at an approved mitigation bank for the remaining temporary and permanent impacts to the Feather River. The project is expected to result in incidental take of Spring-run Chinook salmon, which is/are designated as a threatened species under CESA. The ITP referenced above as issued by CDFW authorizes incidental take of species listed under CESA that may occur as a result of Project implementation.
