The originally approved project consists of an amendment to Title 19 Kern County Zoning Ordinance (July 2012), with focus on Chapter 19.98 (Oil and Gas Production), to include new site development standards for all oil and gas exploration, extraction, operations, and production activities in unincorporated Kern County. Aera Energy LLC proposes to hydraulically fracture one existing well941HR2-33 (API# 03060081) in five stages, which is expected to take approx. 3 days (including placement of portable tanks and all ancillary equipment to support the closed loop system, as well as the well stimulation treatment (WST). The DOGGR permitted, but yet to be drilled, well will be located in a densely developed oilfield (South Belridge) and directionally drilled in 2016. As such, there would be no new ground disturbance or expansion of existing facilities associated with this project. Fluids from the WST will be collected in a closed system and will not be discharged onto the ground or into sumps. Flow-back fluids from the well immediately after WST operations will be collected in the closed system at the well site. The collected fluid operations will be collected in the closed system at the well site. The collected fluid will be transported from the well site for treatment in a water treatment facility, Water Plant 20, and transported via pipeline to Aera's permitted Class II disposal wells.
