Present Land Use
Developed and Undeveloped land in Kern County. Current Zoning Classifications and General Plan Map Code Designations to remain the same.
Document Description
The originally approved project consists of an amendment to Title 19 Kern County Zoning Ordinance (July 2012), with focus on Ch. 19.98 (Oil and Gas Production), to include new site development standards for all oil and gas exploration, extraction, operations, and production activities in unincorporated Kern County.
The DOGGR, as the CEQA responsible agency, will be issuing a permit for the proposed project activity, which consists of the following:
The purpose is to perform WSTs (re-frac) on the four (4) above mentioned existing wells in North and South Belridge for the purpose of increasing oil production. Each WST is expected to take about four days. Fluids from the WST will be collected in a closed system and will be discharged onto the ground or into sumps. All flowback water is processed and re-injected into the water flood using the same procedures used to manage produced water from the field's oil production.
