Developed and Undeveloped land in Kern County. Current Zoning Classifications and General Plan Map Code Designations to remain the same.
Document Description
The originally approved project consists of an amendment to Title 19 Kern County Zoning Ordinance (July 2012), with focus on Chapter 19.98 (Oil and Gas Production), to include new site development standards for all oil and gas exploration, extraction, operations, and production activities in unincorporated Kern County. DOGGR, as the Responsible Agency, will be issuing a permit for the proposed project activity, which consists of the following: CRC proposes to drill, complete, and hydraulically fracture one (1) new oil and gas wells in Sections 10, T32S, R25E, MDBM. Well will be drilled from a single well pad (the Section 10H Well Pad) which will be 11.02 acres in size. The proposed well will be directionally drilled from the centralized Section 10H pad in order to minimize land disturbance and will target the Stevens Sands reservoir. The well will then be perforated and completed with a single stage hydraulic fracture in the Stevens Sands. The well in the project is expected to take approx. 20 days to drill and then 10 days to complete for a total of 30 days. All produced fluids will be collected in a closed system and will not be discharged to the ground for sumps. Processed reclaimed water will be injected into existing Class II wells. The estimated water volume to be used is approx. 6,200 bbls per well and the source water will be Kern Front Produced Water.
