The Desert Renewable Energy Conservation Plan is a proposed multi-species habitat conservation plan intended to conserve threatened and endangered species and natural communities in the Mojave and Colorado Desert regions of southern California, while also facilitating the timely permitting of renewable energy projects to help meet the State's goal of providing at least 33 percent of electricity generation through renewable energy and the Federal government's goal of increasing renewable energy generation on public land. The DRECP Plan Area encompasses 22,587,00 acres of Federal and no-Federal land in portions of Imperial, Inyo, Kern, Los Angeles, Riverside, San Bernardino and San Diego counties.
