Document Description
The proposed Project involves the construction and operation of a new 6-level (including 1 basement level), 61,000-gross square foot (gsf) research laboratory building for the Henry Samueli School of Engineering 1A building, which is scheduled for demolition in summer 2011. The proposed project also involves (1) realignment of a campus roadway parallel to Westwood Plaza that provides service vehicle access to Ackerman Union; (2) modification to the entrance to the service yard for Ackerman Union; (3) widening and reconstructing the Portola Steps along the north project boundary; (4) a passive landscaped area between the proposed Engineering Building and the Engineering IV Building that would include bicycle parking a pedestrian pathway; (5) replacement of motorcycle and moped parking south east of parking Structure 6; and (6) installation of pedestrian paving, site walls, lighting, landscaping and utilities.
