The SOCCCD Board of Trustees certified the PEIR for the 2011 Facilities Master Plan (FMP) for Saddleback College and the 2011 FMP for Irvine Valley College, as the environmental documentation for the two campuses' FMPs covering the period 2011 to 2031. The FMP included: • Increases of 6,110 full-time equivalent students; • Addition of 838,510 gross square feet (GSF) of academic, student service, and support building space, and the removal of a portion of the 84,546 GSF of portable facilities then existing at the site; and • A net increase of 1,790 parking spaces The 2011 Saddleback College and Irvine Valley College FMPs describe the needed buildings, infrastructure, vehicular and pedestrian circulation improvements, and proposed sequencing schedules required for construction and operation of instructional and support facilities through the year 2031. The 2011 FMPs also provide extensive guidance with regard to water and energy efficiency technologies and conservation practices; construction/demolition (C&D) and solid waste recycling; renewable energy standards; stormwater pollutant reduction; and overall sustainable design and building practices.
