Alisal Reservoir

Request of Curt Moniot, agent, on behalf of the Alisal Ranch, is requesting a Minor Conditional Use Permit for the construction and use of an approximately 1.5 million gallon (4.7 acre feet), earthen lined agricultural water storage reservoir that would draw water from the Santa Ynez River. It would be approximately, 160 feet in length, by 160 feet in width, and have a depth of 14 feet. Earthwork would consist of 26,600 cubic yards of cut and 22,300 cubic yards of fill, assuming 20% shrinkage. Total area of disturbance during build-out is approximately 1.6 acres. The reservoir would support year round agricultural operations on the subject parcel, and it is not proposed to be used in conjunction with the property owner's neighboring parcels (i.e. Alisal Guest Ranch and River Course). Water supply would be provided from an existing well located on the east side of the southern end of the Alisal Bridge. From the bridge, the water pipeline route would extend south (off the west side of Alisal Road) and then follow the power line route westward to the reservoir. The project would also include new overheard power supply lines with at least four power poles (PG&E), water pumps, telemetry, controls, fencing, and a 240 square foot (8 feet high) equipment - pump - storage area. The Reservoir area would be accessed via a new 200 foot long by 16 feet wide all weather road that would tic into an existing all weather road of varying widths currently serving the Solvang Municipal Waste Water Treatment Plant.
