Document Description
Colony Land Company, L.P. is requesting a CUP and Reclamation Plan to develop, operate, and reclaim a 1.25 million ton per year mine and aggregate processing operation on approximately 1,500 acres of land. The Proposed Project will phase aggregate mining over an operating period of approximately 100 years with estimated marketable reserves of 85 million tons. Onsite operations will include rock crushing, asphalt, ready-mix concrete, and recycling plants. The Proposed Project will operate on 898 acres of a 1,500-acre site and maintain an approximate 602-acre bugger area of mostly fruit tree orchards surrounding the operations area. The final reclamation will create a series of ponds for future water use and storage (approximately 583 acres), backfilled mining cells to return to agricultural use (approximately 238 acres) and will leave in place approximately 77 acres of existing roads and irrigation ditches that will be used for post-reclamation land uses at the Proposed Project site.
