- Document Description
- The Project includes the construction and operation of a new recreational boat dock. The boat dock will be 226 ft in length, 10 ft in width, and a removable, floating kayak dock system 13 ft in length will be attached. A gangway and ramp will also be constructed to connect the dock to the existing floodwall and will be 51 ft in length. The gangway will be connected to a winch system that will enable the gangway to be adjusted based on the changing water level. Upstream of the new dock a debris barrier will be constructed to provide protection to the dock. The debris barrier will be combination of four 3 pile dolphin structures and a 24 inch foam-filled steel pipe (floating camel) system, approximately 130 ft in length, angled to intercept and deflect debris into the main channel of the river where it will bypass the dock. Use of the debris barrier will allow for the dock to remain in place year-round and not be removed in the winter season. In order to provide appropriate design depths adjacent to and underneath the dock, approximately 2,000 cy of dredge material will be removed from the riverbed.
