Document Description
SWRCB, as the responsible agency, will be issuing a water supply permit. The Irvine Ranch Water District proposed project includes construction and operation of a 28 million gallon per day water treatment plant that will use microfiltration membranes and ultraviolet disinfection to treat water from the Lake Matthews and Irvine Lake sources to provide water to district customers and 4 other agencies (El Toro Water District, Mouton Niguel Water District, Santa Margarita Water District, and Trabuco Canyon Water District) to be used during emergency conditions or during scheduled maintenance of the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California's Diemer Treatment Plant, to improve water supply reliability. The project will also include a new off-site pump station near Peter's Canyon Reservoir, a meter exchange and pipeline replacement, anew sewer pipeline for non-reclaimable wastewater, new pipelines to convey treated water, a residuals handling facility that would allow processing on site, and two new electrical conduit alignments.
