The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and its non-Federal sponsors, SJAFCA and the Central Valley Flood Protection Board propose to improve flood risk management in North and Central Stockton by repairing and enhancing the levees that surround the city through the construction of cut-off walls, and by constructing and operating closure structures on Fourteenmile Slough and Smith Canal.
