The project involves replacing Flumes 39-40, 41, construction of two staging areas along Rock Crusher Road and one staging area on the canal, and improving Rock Crusher Road for safe equipment access to the Flume 41 site. Additional access and staging locations for each replacement would be at existing roads, road turnouts, and helispots identified in the EID Transportation System Management Plan (TSMP), approved by FERC, which regulates the hydroelectric operations of Project 184 and include: staging areas at the Sierra Pacific Industries (SPI) privately owned site, Sand Flat site, Alder Spoils site, and areas along the Canal bench. Helicopter use would be required during construction activities.
