Document Description
The Project involves the development of 137 acres, of which approximately 7.5 acres is unimproved rangeland and the remainder is cultivated hayfields, into a college campus and residential subdivision project. The Gavilan College San Benito Campus will be constructed on the southern portion of the Project site on an approximately 77-acre site located adjacent to the northeast corner of Fairview Road and Airline Highway.
The Project will permanently remove 137 acres of California tiger salamander (Ambystoma californiense) habitat. The Project is expected to result in incidental take of California tiger salamander, which is designated as a threatened species under the California Endangered Species Act (CESA). The ITP referenced above as issued by CDFW authorizes incidental take of species listed under CESA that may occur as a result of Project implementation. Minor Amendment No. 1 adds the entity, FOR California Development, LLC, as a Permittee on the ITP referenced above. The resulting impacts of the Project to California tiger salamander remain the same.
