Document Description
Project consists of a 4.8 megawatt (MW) PV system on three sites on the UC Merced campus. The system would be constructed, operated, and maintained by SunPower. The project is proposed by the campus to support the University Policy on Sustainable Practices, UC Merced's Triple Zero Commitment, and in support of the sustainability strategies in the UC Merced 2009 LRDP. The photovoltaics (PV) systems would be installed at three campus locations - the North Bowl parking lot, the campus corporation yard, and Housing 4. It is expected that the arrays, comprising nearly 16,000 PV, would generate approx. 10,000,000 kilowatt-hours (kWh) per year. In addition, the campus proposed to amend a mitigation measure adopted in the 2009 LRDP to reflect recent changes in the approach to avoiding impacts to burrowing owls required by CDFW.
