Note: Extended Review The Bay Delta Conservation Plan is a comprehensive conservation strategy to advance the planning goal of restoring ecological functions of the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta and improving water supply reliability in the State of California. The CA Dept. of Water Resources and several state and federal water contractors are applying for certain permits under state and federal endangered species laws. DWR, acting as lead agency for compliance with the CEQA, and the U.S. Dept. of the Interior Bureau of Reclamation, the USFWS, the NMFS, acting as lead agencies for compliance with the NEPA, have prepared a joint draft EIR/EIS in compliance with CEQA and NEPA to analyze and disclose the potential environmental effects associated with the BDCP alternatives, proposed issuance of take permits, and to identify potentially feasible ways to avoid, minimize, or mitigate adverse effects.
