Document Description
The Water Acquisition Project is the purchase of 10,000 acre ft of water by CVWD from RRB under its Water Banking and Recovery Program, which involves the recharge, groundwater banking, recovery, and exchange of water. The purchased water would be provided by RRB to CVWD at the KCWA/Cross Valley Canal turnin located at Mile Post 238.04, Reach 12E of the California Aqueduct, either through an in-lieu exchange of RRB's SWP supplies or through the pumping and direct delivery into the California Aqueduct of RRB's banked groundwater. When direct delivery is needed RRB would use the Cross Valley Canal (CVC) to transport the purchased water to the California Aqueduct at Reach 12E. In order to implement this project, DWR must approve the change in the point of delivery and water exchange og KCWA's 2008 through 2010 Table A supplies and the delivery of non-Project water to CVWD under the long-term Water Supply Contracts between CVWD and DWR and LCWA and DWR.
