Document Description
The proposed project includes the reconfiguration and modernization of the existing middle school campus for high school uses and operation of the campus with the proposed Valley Region Byrd High School program. The proposed project would provide 1,620 two-semester seats for grades nine through twelve. The proposed project involves the reconfiguration of the existing campus, including classrooms, a library/ media center, and administration offices. Classroom reconfiguration would include external alterations, e.g. building painting. Internal reconfiguration would include reorganization of the existing buildings. The project would also entail development of a new 12,137 sf gymnasium with locker rooms near Sheldon Street. Athletic facilities would include a football/ soccer field, track and field, and hardcourts for basketball, volleyball and tennis. Field lighting and approx. 1,000 seat bleachers would be provided at the football and soccer fields.
