Document Description
The Railyards Specific Plan is a mixed use development and proposes development of a transit oriented mixed use urban environment. The project would include low, medium, and high rise single use and mixed use residential, retail, office and hotel structures. The project also provides cultural/recreational facilities including refurbished buildings, numerous public parks and walkways, and a proposed performing arts center/theater. The project offers a network of public streets with vehicular, bicycle, and pedestrian access, aboveground and subgrade parking facilities and above surface and subsurface energy, water, wastewater, and drainage infrastructure and facilities. The project would also include development of a Sacramento Intermodal Transit Facility, which would provide multiple modes of public transit service including bus, rail, light rail, and passenger auto. The project would also involve the realignment of railroad tracks for use by Amtrak, Union Pacific, Sacramento RT, and the potential future construction of a regional high speed rail line.
