Document Description
NOTE: Extended Review Per Lead
The WSIP involves improvements to the regional system with respect to water quality, seismic responses, and water delivery based on a planning horizon through the year 2030. The WSIP also includes phased implementation of a water supply strategy to meet projected water demand through 2018. It also includes full implementation of all proposed WSIP facility improvement projects to ensure that the public health, seismic safety and delivery reliability goals are achieved as soon as possible. Under the WSIP, the SFPUC established an interim mid-term planning horizon for its water supply strategy - 2018. Thus, the SFPUC made a decision about providing water supply to its customerst through 2018 only, and will consider a decision regarding long-term water supply after 2018 and through 2030 after it undertakes further water supply planning and demand analysis.
