Document Description
The purpose of the proposed project is to remove vegetation and debris from the center channel and high flow terraces of the Middle Creek Project (a flood control structure) in order to maintain the design capacity for the channel. Riparian vegetation growing between the high and low flow areas will not be removed, as it provides habitat for terrestrial species and shades the channel bottom. California Department of Forestry hand crews will be used to remove the vegetation and debris from the center channel and high flow terraces. The work area extends on Middle Creek from its confluence with Scott Creek north for 1.9 miles. The work will occur between September 1 and December 31 of 2005 and 2006.
