Document Description
Draft Supplemental EIR. A Final EIR was certified in 2005 for the Trade-Technical College Facilities Master Plan, SCH#2004121007. The 2005 FEIR included demolition of Redwood Hall but not the Grand Theater. LACCD now proposes to demolish the Grand Theater, also known as the Magnolia Hall Auditorium (29,976 sf, constructed in 1924). The DSEIR evaluates demolition. Rehabilitation of the Grand Theater was found to be infeasible and inconsistent with LACCD’s programming and educational goals for the campus. The DSEIR identifies significant impacts to historic resources as a result of demolition of the Grand Theater. The DSEIR identifies alternatives to demolition and mitigation measures.
