The California Department of Transportation proposes to address current recurring peak period congestion as well as more prolonged future congestion by adding capacity in each direction on mainline I-80 from 1.1 kilometers (0.70 miles) west of the City of Sacramento/Placer County line to approximately 1.56k (0.97 mi.) east of the State Route 65 connector in Placer County.
