Document Description
UC Berkeley proposes to commence the Centennial Drive Evacuation Support Project (Project) from December 1, 2019, through January 15, 2020, consistent with the fuel management that was evaluated in the 2020 Long Range Development Plan Environmental Impact Report (SCH # 200308213). The Project comprises 33.3 acres in the Hill Campus and would involve fuel management activities within 100 feet of the edge of pavement depending on slope and other conditions along both sides of Stadium Rim Way and Centennial Drive. Over a six-week period, UC Berkeley would remove all trees, regardless of species type or maturity, located along and within 100 feet adjacent to either side of portions of Centennial Drive and Stadium Rim Way that are either unhealthy and determined by an arborist to be dead or in poor or fair condition or that are located so that in a fire they could fall across the road blocking vehicle access on Centennial Drive becoming a safety hazard.
