The Department of Toxic Substances Control intends to oversee actions taken by Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) Company to mitigate hazardous substance problems at the PG&E Willows Former Manufactured Gas Plant (MGP) Site. Excavation of soil for protection of the groundwater at the site, monitoring of groundwater to ensure that natural biodegredation of contaminants of potential concern (COPCs) continues, and maintaining controls to limit exposures.
