The preferred alternative is to extend light rail transit (LRT) along Capitol Expressway in two phases: the initial phase from the existing Alum Rock LRT Station to the Eastridge Transit Center and a subsequent phase to Nieman Blvd. The project would include stations, an expanded park-and-ride, substations, LRT storage facility, and other ancillary facilities.
