The Proposed Project would do the following: 1) Realign the existing railroad track within the existing right-of-way to straighten some curves, 2) Add 3.1 miles of new second track (2.2 miles within the existing railroad right-of-way and 0.9 miles within new right-of-way), and 3) Close a 3.1-mile gap of single-tracked railroad between double-tracked railroad sections at both ends of the project.
