Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Game is executing a lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement pursuant to Section 9 1601(9) of the Fish and Game Code to the project applicant, Caltrans. The applicant proposes the following scope of work:
Site 1. The overall project will include an asphalt-concrete overlay shoulders widened to 2.4 meters, and grading for future construction of a passing lane in the westbound direction. Minor wiork, including culvert replacement, fill, vegetation removal and grading, will be required in Cottonwood Creek at three to six locations where the creek crosses and/or is adjacent to the highway.
Site 2. This section of the project will construct a 40-foot conventional highway on a new alignment parallel and east of the existing State Route 41. After new construction, the old pavement will be removed. An existing 2.4 X 1.2 meter concrete box culvert at Avenal Creek will be replaced with a new 19 meter spanning structure. In the new alignment, eleven culverts draining tributaries to Avenal Creek will be removed and replaced.
