Document Description
The EIR addresses the potential environmental effects of the construction and operation of the Farad Diversion Dam. SPPC is proposing to replace the Farad Diversion Dam on the Truckee River that was damaged in the January 1997 flood. The proposed Farad Diversion Dam will divert water from the Truckee River at Floristan for the generation of electricity at the Farad Power Plant, 1.8 miles downstream. The proposed replacement dam will be located approximately 600 feet upstream of the original structure, and will include a fish passage structure, a fish screen, and allow for the passage of recreational white water boaters.
