Document Description
Improvements proposed under the proposed project would include the widening and restriping of this thoroughfare to six lanes north of the intersection of Yorba Linda Boulevard to north of Esperanza Road/Orangethorpe Boulevard. In addition to widening, implementation of the proposed project would also include intersection improvements to provide for additional storage capacity and greater safety, raised landscape medians to restrict/assign left turn movements for safety reasons and improve the aesthetics nature of the thoroughfare, varying landscaped berms (6-10 ft. in height) with sound walls (6 ft. in height) to reduce traffic noise and improve the visual quality of the roadway, and signal interconnection, construction, and modification to promote efficient vehicular travel and improved safety along the roadway. Improvements to the storm drainage system along Imperial Highway are also included immediately west of Casa Loma Avenue to eliminate area flooding and capacity problems associated with other major intersection crossings along Imperial Highway. The project will also serve to confine run-off which now flows in unimproved gutters or ditches. The project would also require a series of temporary construction easements during the roadway improvement period.
