The proposed project entails the demolition of an existing building at 2825 International Boulevard and construction of a new one- and two-story K-5 public elementary school. The existing vacant Montgromery Ward Building that occupies the eastern two-thirds of the site, is listed as a Potential Designated Historic Property by the City of Oakland, and has been determined to be eligible for the national Register of Historic Places. The project entails transfer of the project site from the City to the School District for construction of the school.
