Document Description
The Garcia River was the first watershed in northern California under an adopted implementation plan for sediment Total maximum Daily Load (TMDL). The Action Plan (2000) identified roads as the most controllable course of sediment in the watershed. To date approximately two thirds of the watershed has participated in voluntary compliance to control erosion through road-project implementation or planning based on Best management Practices. The Project goal is to reduce road-related sediment delivery on 61% of the Garcia River heedwaters by imple.
