Nearly all of the existing UARP is located within the Eldorado National Forest. The proposed Iowa Hill Pumped-storage Development would be constructed on lands that are currently undeveloped.

Document Description
The Central Valley Water Board is issuing a 401 Programmatic Water Quality Certification for the subject Project. The project consists of a variety of projects authorized by the Army Corps of Engineers under a Regional General Permit and certification through the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). Individual Projects would be presented for approval under this Certification on an annual basis and will involve operation; maintenance and minor construction activities. The Applicant received a renewed FERC license on 23 July 2014 that requires minor construction and modification that may impact wetlands and waters of the United States.
