Document Description
The Department of issuing a Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement for the project proponent who proposes to develop a 55-acre property into 107-single-family lots, lettered lots for park, open space/trail, flood control and retention, and public and private streets. This property is located adjacent to and north of the existing city limits Desert Hot Springs. Several Department-jurisdictional un-vegetated ephemeral drainages are located on the site. Permanent impacts to those drainages total 0.273 acres. The impacts for the 0.273 acres will be mitigated at a 2:1 ratio for a total of 0.546 acres. Of the 0.546 acres, 0.237 acres will be mitigated onsite through a conservation easement placed on this property. This conservation easement shall be provided in perpetuity, approved of by the Department, and will include a management endowment of $2,370 (at $10,000 per acre). The remanding 0.309 acres shall be mitigated offsite by a payment of $12,360 (at $40,000 per acre) to be used by the Department for tamarisk removal within the Coachella Valley.
