Huasna Road over Arroyo Grande Creek Bridge Replacement Project

Description

The County of San Luis Obispo (County), with funding from the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and oversight by the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), proposes to replace the existing Huasna Road over Arroyo Grande Creek Bridge (Bridge 49C0124), located at the intersection of Huasna Road and Lopez Drive approximately 2.25 miles northeast of the city of Arroyo Grande, San Luis Obispo County, California. The existing bridge was constructed in 1923 and has been classified as structurally deficient, scour critical, and has reached the end of its service life. The project purpose is to improve public safety by replacing a structure near the end of its service life. Safety will be improved by installing wider shoulders, approach guard railing, and making improvements to the existing roadway horizontal and vertical geometry
