The aim of the EJ Element is to reduce burdens for communities experiencing adverse effects, promote meaningful participation of those communities in all phases of the environmental and land use decision making process, and providing meaningful consideration of recommendations from populations and communities most impacted by pollution into environmental and land use decisions.
