CUP23-0020/IS23-0026-Dogwood Geothermal Energy Project

Description

Ormat has filed three separate Conditional Use Permits (CUP) applications with the County of Imperial for the construction and operation or various facilities. The three CUP applications consist or the following: 1) Dogwood Geothermal Energy Project; 2) Heber 2 Solar Energy Project, and 3) Heber Reid Company Geothermal Wells and Pipeline Project. Collectively, these three CUP applications are referred as the "project". The Dogwood Geothermal Energy Project includes a 25-megawatt (MW) geothermal energy facility, two 20,000-gallon above-ground isopentane storage tanks, a 7 MW solar photovoltaic field, and a medium voltage distribution line from the proposed solar facility to the proposed geothermal plant. The cable would be co-located along an existing above ground pipeline. The Heber 2 Solar Energy Project would be a 15 MW solar photovoltaic field (that would connect directly to the Heber 2 geothermal power plant. The Heber Field Company Geothermal Wells and Pipeline Project would include three new geothermal productions wells, one new injection well, and interconnecting brine pipelines.
