Camp San Luis Obispo Vehicular Bridge 3 Replacement Project

Description

California Military Department (CMD) is proposing to replace an existing vehicular gate and a vehicular bridge (Bridge 3) to address the current structural deficiencies. The Project is located within Camp San Luis Obispo, located approximately 3 linear miles west of the City of San Luis Obispo. The replacement bridge would be in generally the same location as the existing bridge but would encompass a larger footprint to include a sidewalk. The bridge would support an existing sewer line, as well as conduits for future power, telecommunications, and bridge luminaires. The vehicle speed limit is expected to be 35 miles per hour with Class 40 loading. The proposed bridge includes improvements to the following: Bridge structure (expanded drive lanes), bridge deck drainage, bridge lighting (Light Emitting Diodes to match lighting standards), and temporary relocation and replacement of local utilities. Additionally, improvements are proposed to the existing vehicle access gate and a proposed pedestrian access gate near Bridge 3.
