Title
Saxon Reservoir and Replacement Well Project (Project)
Description
Golden State Water Company (GSWC) – South San Gabriel proposes to construct a 750,000-gallon above-ground potable water storage tank, booster pump station, stationary emergency 450kW diesel generator, and a disinfection system with associated lighting, control panels, and appurtenances at the Saxon Well Site. The proposed Project also includes construction of a new Saxon Well 5 to replace Saxon Well 3, in which both wells are located on the same site. The existing office/warehouse building at the Project location will be demolished to make room for the new components. The purpose of the Project is to provide potable water to the South San Gabriel System while meeting existing water system demand. The Project is needed to address existing water storage deficiency, add redundancy to the existing system, and maintain an uninterrupted supply of water for the system. The Project is not considered overall capacity increasing because the overall capacity required by the South San Gabriel System would remain the same with the existing conditions. The proposed Project would also be located in a fully developed urban area with a stable customer base. The proposed storage tank would increase storage within the South San Gabriel System to meet an increase in demand.
