Title
ER 8349 - CSA 1 Tamarack Estates Water Infrastructure Replacement Project
Description
The County of Fresno's Department of Public Works and Planning proposes to secure the reliability of the water distribution system and lower wasting groundwater due to the frequent leaks in the aged water pipeline. The existing water main is beyond the original intended lifespan. The current system has experienced multiple water main breaks in the recent past due to the shallow water main trench and construction using asbestos cement pipe. The project would replace all asbestos pipe with High Density Polyethylene (HOPE) or Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC). The HOPE/PVC would be 4-6 inches wide and the typical trench would be 24 inches wide by 42 inches deep within the roadway area (roadbed or shoulder). The water storage tank would also be replaced to accomplish this objective. Other objectives are to update service connections, hydrants and appurtenances. See Attachment A for a location map. See Attachment B for United States Topography Map of the existing project site. No right-of-way acquisition or utility relocation is anticipated. No tree or vegetation removal is anticipated. Please see Attachment C for a NEPAssist Report.
