Title: School Upgrade Program: Los Angeles Unified School District
Description: This Draft SPEIR addresses the environmental effects associated with the implementation of the LAUSD’s School Upgrade Program (SUP). This public document was designed to provide the public and local and state governmental agency decision makers with an analysis of potential environmental consequences to support informed decision-making. This document considers and incorporates appropriate information from six agency comment letters received during the NOP comment period (January 3, 2023 to February 2, 2023). LAUSD, as the lead agency, has relied on applicable LAUSD technical personnel from the Office of Environmental Health and Safety (OEHS) and other departments. Data for this Draft SPEIR were obtained from field observations; discussions with affected agencies; analysis of adopted jurisdictional agency plans and policies and LAUSD Standard Conditions of Approval; review of available studies, reports, data, and similar literature; specialized environmental assessments prepared for previous site-specific projects; and past experience with school construction and upgrade projects.
