Title: Ambrose Debris Screen Project
Description: The proposed project would replace the existing trash rack (also known as a bar screen) within the United States Bureau of Reclamation (Reclamation) fee-owned right-of-way at Milepost 19.5 of the Contra Costa Canal (the “Canal”) with a similar bar screen at the same location. The proposed project also would add a screen upstream of the existing bar screen and modernize debris handling functionality with a mechanical system known as a trolley rake. A trolley rake is a hydraulic system that would remove vegetation and debris from the added screen. The rake travels on a rail across the width of the Canal.
