Title
San Jose Creek Multipurpos Path Project
Description
The San Jose Creek Multipurpos Path Project would construct a paved multipurpose path in two segments. The Northern segment would be approximatley 2,400 feet in length and 10-14 feet wide. The project would include improvements to the existing sidewalk and Class II bicycle lanes on Calle Real, then continue across Calle Real to Caltrans right-of-way for U.S. 101, cross under U.S. 101 and continue along San Jose to Armitos Avenue and connect to bicyle paths along two parks in Goleta Old Town. The Southern segment would construct a multipurpose path approximately 1 mile in length and 8-12 feet wide. This path would be built to provide access from South Kellogg Avenue over San Jose Creek channel with a 350-foot long bridge of 12 feet wide for five-feet in each direction and chain link railing on each side. This segment would also includea 2-foot concrete barrier and railing to separate the path from State Route (SR) 217. At the sount end of the project, a box culvert would be constructed to provide access under SR 217, at least 39 feet north of the end of the exisitng SR 217 bridge. From the culvert, the new multipurpose path would continue eastward to connect with the existing Atascadero Creek Bikeway (Obern Trail/Coastal Route).
