SBMWD Water Facilities Relocation Project

Description

The San Bernardino Municipal Water Department (SBMWD) seeks to develop a new Administrative Building within a site containing the SBMWD existing concrete block operations buildings. The proposed SBMWD Water Facilities Relocation Project consists of development within a 7.86 acre or 342,426.48 square foot (SF) site designated for Industrial use by the City of San Bernardino General Plan on the southeast corner of South E Street and Chandler Place in southwestern San Bernardino. The project consists of one parcel with the following Assessor’s Parcel Number (APN): 0141-291-07. The project proposes a new administration building that will incorporate sustainable, energy efficient building systems and features, including a 17,921 SF demonstration garden. The proposed project would also include renovations of the existing 26,055.6 SF concrete block operations building that is located toward the eastern boundary of the site, which will house vehicle maintenance in the existing service bays and administrative offices in the two-story office section of the building. Additionally, the project includes the development of a 13,500 SF one-story tilt-up concrete warehouse with loading docks, as well as other site improvements. Construction of the proposed SBMWD Water Facilities Relocation Project is anticipated to be completed in three phases to be completed in about 24 months. Once in operation, the Administrative Headquarters will operate between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., except in the event of an emergency.
