Title
Use of Copper to Control Algae and Aquatic Vegetation in District Facilities
Description
Central California Irrigation District (“CCID”) and Henry Miller Reclamation District (“HMRD”, or collectively “Districts”) propose to apply algaecides and/or aquatic herbicides that contain copper to water within their facilities to control algae and aquatic vegetation. These proposed applications would be made on an as-needed basis to allow for the efficient delivery of irrigation and reclaimed water in the Districts’ facilities in Fresno, Stanislaus, and Merced Counties. Based on the results of the Initial Study (IS), the Districts have determined that the proposed project can be carried out without significant impacts on the environment. Therefore, the Districts propose to adopt a Mitigated Negative Declaration (MND).
