Title
Dizdar Park Renovation and Expansion
Description
The proposed project involves on-site demolition of the former fire station/community center and the vacant office building, and the renovation and expansion of the existing Dizdar Park. The renovated park would include a new playground, band shell, sitting garden, picnic area, restrooms, parking lot, and paved pathways throughout the 1.75-acre project site. An asphalt parking lot would be constructed and would include approximately 24 parking spaces, including two accessible parking spots and two future electric vehicle charging spots. The proposed design reflects the outcome of the preliminary phase of the project, during which both the community and City Council were involved. Ultimate park features and details would be determined after approval of the project and certification of the Final EIR as part of the design development process. The project site is located within the central portion of the City of Camarillo in its Old Town area in Ventura County, at the southeastern corner of the intersection of East Ventura Boulevard and South Glenn Drive, approximately 350 feet south of U.S. Highway 101.
